Transfer of Verna's motor insurance to Vörður
Verna ceased offering insurance at the end of January 2026, at which point all of Verna's vehicle insurance policies were transferred to Vörður .
Vörður has been Verna's underwriter since October 1 2025, in addition to handling claims services for the company. At the end of January 2026, Verna customers' vehicle insurance policies were automatically transferred to Vörður. You don't need to do anything - the protection remains unchanged and on comparable or better terms.
How are payments handled after the transfer?
After February 1st, your vehicle insurance bills will be sent from Vörður instead of Verna.
The default payment method is monthly bank claims. You can choose other payment methods on Vörður's My Pages.
If you are already customer of Vörður, your vehicle insurance will follow the same payment method as your current insurance with Vörður. You can choose other payment methods on My Pages.
How will the change impact customers?
Verna will cease offering insurance at the end of January 2026, and your insurance will automatically transfer to Vörður

Do I need to do anything because of the change?
No, you don't need to do anything. Your insurance was automatically transferred to Vörður on February 1, 2026.
Your insurance coverage will also remain unchanged and on comparable or better terms.
Will Vörður continue to use the driving score to price my insurance policy?
No, since Vörður does not use telematics, the driving score in the Verna app will no longer be active and will therefore not affect the price of your vehicle insurance.
Vörður premiums depend on several factors. For example, if you have more insurance with Vörður, this may have an impact on reducing your premiums.
No, the terms and conditions remain the same. So you don't have to worry about your policy. If there is a difference between the terms and conditions of Vörður and Verna, the better insurance coverage applies.
Do the terms of the vehicle insurance change upon transfer?
What happens if I already have an open claim with Verna?
If the damage occurred before October 1, 2025, Verna's former insurer, TM, will provide all further information and will fully resolve the claim.
If the damage occurred on or after October 1, 2025, Vörður will handle all information provision and processing of the claim.
